Trump offers olive branch to tech leaders

For President-elect Donald Trump, it's kiss-and-make-up time.


Trump met with more than a dozen executives from the biggest tech companies in the US -- a roundtable fraught with potential for awkwardness given Trump's repeated attacks on tech and the philosophical disagreements he has with some of the executives.


The president-elect instead pledged to do "anything we can do" to help continue the industry's success.

Microsoft shows unusual paranoia on Twitter

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

2016 has seen Microsoft gain in confidence.


This doesn't mean, however, that there isn't fright in the air. I judge this from the activity of its Office Twitter account.


When Twitterer @OfficialchinXS mused: "Word 2016 has been the worst year yet," coupled with a weeping emoji, Microsoft was deeply saddened.


Actually, hurt would be a better description. For its official Office Twitter account must have tortured itself for three days, before it replied: "@Officialchinxs Ouch. Do you have any feedback for us?"

Twitter adds PGA Tour to roster of sports live streams

Twitter will be showing more of golf champ Rory McIlroy's swings as part its new live-streaming deal with the PGA Tour.

Golf fans can now do more than just follow the PGA champion Rory McIlroy's tweets on Twitter, they can actually see him play live on the social network.

Twitter said Thursday it's adding the PGA Tour to its expanding live-streaming sports lineup. Twitter's coverage will begin with the CareerBuilder Challenge on Jan. 19 and conclude with the season-ending PGA Tour Championship.
